Customers Benefit from Both On-Appliance and Agent-Based Data Deduplication Capabilities
Campbell, Calif., July 13, 2009 – Barracuda Networks Inc., today announced that the proven data deduplication technology used on-appliance with the Barracuda Backup Service has now been extended to the Barracuda Backup Agent, a lightweight software-based client side application, ensuring that more customers benefit from the increased storage savings using data deduplication. Applying block-level deduplication inline, the Barracuda Backup Service can yield reductions in backup storage requirements between 20 and 50 times over what is required for traditional backup or snapshot technologies, effectively enabling customers to reduce backup windows and bandwidth requirements.
